The social constructionist definition of racism, currently in vogue with an angry and ignorant campus left reduces the term to the systemic subjugation of a minority by a dominant group. The problem with this facile diagnosis is it’s presumption that once this particular power dynamic is addressed, racism will end.
My bio-psychological (and mystical) understanding defines the term racism as the erroneous identification (whether negative OR positive) of a persons subjective essence with what ought be an arbitrary and non-relevant surface trait, known as race. Until this psychological tendency is addressed, all else is musical chairs.
